On 3, 4 and 5 September 2017, staff of the project partners joined in Portugal for an international meeting of project.

The purpose of the project is to

  • Improve the quality of education in general and to improve the quality culture in the partner organisations.
  • Form strategic partnerships to improve inclusive education.

In order to achieve these goals, the project focuses on tools for measuring, mapping and comparing the quality of education. There are ten schools in the project coming from five different countries,  per country one school from special education and one from regular education. Through this unique combination, schools at national and international level learn from each other by benchmarking and benchlearning.

In the first stage of the project, we focussed on assessing what the partners need to reach the goals. In the second stage, three quality professionals trained them how to make and implement their improvement plans. In the coming months, the partners will work on their plans for improving quality and quality culture in their own schools and for promoting inclusive education on local and regional level.

In 2018, when the plans have been put into practice and evaluated, the focus will be on benchmarking and benchlearning. At the end of the project there will be national meetings where the results of the project will be shared with both special and mainstream education.

When schools, or other stakeholders, want more information about the project, the tools that have been developed and deployed, or in the improvement plans, then they may contact  their national project partners or the project manager (bgrimbergen@pluryn.nl).

Strategic partnerships on national level are getting started
